EEG What To Expect

In-Office Routine Brainwave Screen:  This is typically a two-part test. The first part, Routine EEG, is done in the office.  A technician will use a gel to gently attach several electrodes to your scalp. A computer will measure and record your brainwave activity while you rest comfortably and quietly for about 25-30 minutes.

Home Ambulatory Brainwave Study:  The second part, Ambulatory EEG, is a study that is monitored while you are at home for  72 hours.  You will take a very small computer and monitor system home with you, allowing the electrodes to record for 3 nights. You return the equipment on day 4.
